I want to do a SAS on an 04 GMC Canyon. Why? That's what I have and it's paid off:flipoff2: As far as I know no one makes a kit, but I was wondering how hard it would be to modify a s10 sas kit to fit the canyon. Would I be better off just starting from scratch? As far as axles go, I'm hoping to get a hold of a set of waggy axles since the front is passenger drop. Hoping some of you s10 guys could point me in the right direction.

sounds like a reasonable request.
first off...increase the life of the axle you want to use. if you think you need a dana 30 front axle, get a dana 44. if you think youre gonna need a 44, get a 60.
theres nothing like getting everything together only to find you have inferior components that wont accept the load youre placing upon them.
2nd... pick a drop... passenger drop, or drivers drop.
3rd.... pick an amount of lift.
finally, look around at the way some of these guys have lifted their rigs, and what type of wheeling they do. look at structural weakness issues in the design, and plan to NOT do that kind of thing.
take your time. do a lot of reading. BEFORE you buy.
EDIT:!
before you buy waggy anything, look at a ford hp dana 44. sure, it might be too wide, but its fixable. if you dont want to retube, use an np241 transfer case for a drivers drop case... or..get the 77 version, you can retube and narrow that axle, and have something. less ujoint angle is a good thing. if you get the 79 version, you can retube it properly and have something.

i would get you some ford axles before i would go with waggys. i put a 60/14 on my 98 z71 sas and they worked perfectly. I know they are a lil wide but would look cool on your truck IMO. Try Offroad Unlimited for a sas kit, they might just have one for the canyon. Thats where i got my kit for my Z71 and it was awesome and easy to work with.

There was a similar truck on here I saw. It was on rocks tho , and 44 boggers.
:) Search for it .

Yeah I've seen that one before, I think it was black right? Also why are the ford axles preferable to the waggys?
