Anyone have a Chevy or GMC vehicle running the 8.1L (Vortec 8100) Vortec motor?
I'm looking for fuel tank measurements.
I have a Ram Jet 502 and I'm thinking of using the 8.1L Vortec fuel system (Tank, sendering unit, pump, etc.).
It's going in a '72 Chevy Blazer with 26 inches between the rear frame rail area.
Suggestions are also welcome; Thanks  !

as far as 8.1L fuel tanks....it depends on what the 8.1L comes from. there are a lot of options there. Why not run an older square tank from a blazer. Nit sure if it fits between your frame rails. But it will probably be cheaper than a newer tank. I know the newer fuel pumps are stupid expensive. Im using an '91 suburban tank. And a Walbro 255lph-HP in tank pump on the stock sending unit. The walbro fuel pump puts out plent of pressure and volume for the 8.1L. For the FPR and filter Im using a '01(I think!) Vette filter. its a FPR/filter in one and is only 50$ from the autoparts store.
I'll double check the year on the vetter filter.

I would think you could get aftermarket parts cheaper. Plus an in-line pump is a hell of a lot easier to replace.
Is the 502 going to be MPFI or carbed? If carbed, I see no reason to bother with the 8.1 equipment.
And I would guess the only way to fit the tank would be to mount it along side the frame like factory, I don't see it fitting any other way.

My motor is a complete Ram Jet 502.
GM recommends an in-tank, high pressure (40-70 PSI) fuel pump.
