we're planning on leaving friday to head to loon lake. we have a group of around 7-8 rigs so far. let me know if anyone would be interested in joining us. should be a great time:beer:

we'll be extra carefull. i didn't realize how much snow was still up there. any idea on how far we can get before having to turn around? i don't have a winch, and don't plan on trying anything thats going to take its toll onmy truck.

I would Imagine you will run into snow and ususally it'll be slushey and deep near trees. I would highly recommend that someone in your group have a winch and tree strap, its a basic tool that you'll probably end up needing.

one of the guys going has a winch and tree strap. how far in do you think we can get from loon? is it even possible to make to the springs?

Ill be up there that weekend. I'll get there late friday nite. where do yall plan on campin @. I think i plan on campin somewhere near gate keeper. I have a beat up green samurai W/ winch. and Im also bring up my dads cj7 w/ winch. I don't know how many other people are going up with me. see yall up there.

we should be somewhere between loon lake and gate keeper friday night. part of our group is planning on starting thursday night/friday morning, but we're planning on meeting up at buck island. we should be a pretty good size group of about 10 i'm guessing(it keeps going up). we'll be on cb radio channel 12. we'll keep an eye out for ya.

well, turned out to be a cold and wet weekend, lots of fun though. i'll get some pics posted up soon.

I'm sure I saw u guys out there. the weather was cold and wet but could have been a lot worse. we had a whole lot of fun. the yota in our group broke a drive shaft just b4 elise creek. that was sat. on sunday we (with out the toyota) drove out to big sluice and broke an axle in my sami. all and all we had a blast!

friday night, we camped out in the trucks in the staging area, the saturday night, camped at the campground at loon right before the second dam, and sunday night, made it to rubicon springs where we camped out at across the creek just past the springs and wheeled out tahoe side monday morning. we passed a group on our way to buck island, might have been you guys. i had the cooler in the back of my truck come flying open with beer all over the place right as i was dropping down a slab in front of a group that was waiting for us to go through. not to mention one of my buddys landed his cherokee on the lid just past little sluice and we had the trail blocked for a little while we put it back on its wheels. great weekend though. wish i was still there.
