Heres the deal, My Heep Cherokee has no carpet, just door panels, cloth seats and a ratty headliner... Every time i get in it, i smell freaking gear oil (i know we all love this smell and wish our womens would wear it as perfume)... I have carried lots of stuff inside from axles to third memebers, gears, shafts, etc... that have had the stink on them, now how the hell do i get rid of it? I have tried a few things, including taking it to the carwash, rolling down the windows and going to town with the pressure hose... I don't mind the smell of mildew, 2 month old french fries under the seat, or the smell of exhaust coming through my floors, but damn, i gotta drive this thing everyday, and i can't get that smell out, any ideas? Thanks, Hugh

idea #1 what you need to do is sell that POS cherokee and get a toyota truck, then you can store your crap in the bed and wont smell it.
idea #2 another idea would be to cut the back off your cherokee and have a small truck bed on the back........wait you already tried that.
idea #3....get a GEO for a daily driver.

clean the inside out with a rag and a bucket of parts cleaner. Nothing you mentioned will cut gear oil.
Remember...no smoking. You could go <IMG SRC="smilies/nuke.gif" border="0">

(In a Homer Simpson Voice) Hrmmm, truck bed...
No really, the truck bed cherokee didn't really work out all that well, and if i didn't have a cherokee, who the hell would carry all your crap on trial rides???
Febreeze hasn't cut it so far, so i guess its the parts cleaner and a rag... Hell, i might even take out the seats and clean them with that stuff too... New question, lemon or citrus scented parts cleaner? J/K
