'sup guys, since i'm pulling the tranny out to replace the busted up 420, I guess now would be a good time to do twin sticks (i havent had a t-case shifter since i did the 420 swap) (no fab skills/no money=no shifter) I have been looking at the dana 300 twin stcks from currie bcause i can get 'em cheap and might be able to make them work. What are you guys running on your rigs?

Kyle, I really think you would be wasting your money to buy the D300 stuff, it uses diff. levers everywhere than a Cruiser case. If you have a welder and torch, and some of the old linkage its a 2-3 hr job for your first one, the 420 has 2 tapped hols just below the tower on the rh side, there is also a 3rd hole or a boss that you can drill and tap for the 3rd. fab a plate to go over these holes, attach a large bolt or the OEM pivot bolt, fab two arms to pivot on this bolt and all the linkage to make the 2 items function. I've done 3 and helped on a couple of others. Did not take any pix of any of them although Jason Harsch may have some of his.

IMO, twin sticks look kewl....other than that, they serve no useful purpose on a Cruiser.
If run run the stock guide plate, just cut the L shaped opening into a square. Viola - instant 2WD low and 2WD neutral. Or, just don't use the guide plate at all. I haven't run one on my SM465 conversion yet....used all the stock linkage plus a steel plate on the side of the tranny for the linkage pin to bolt to. Cost was like $5.
Doesn't matter how many sticks you install, you still won't get front-wheel-drive only.

I'll side with Woody on this one. Twin Stick shifters for a Landcruiser t-case are not useful. A true twin stick on domestic t-cases is to allow for front wheel only drive. CANT happen on a cruiser.
Modify you leftover threespeed t-case lever.

Yeah, i guess i just wanted to look cool with two shifters, I knew i wouldn't get front drive only. I have a buddy who bought a twin stick set up for his 420/j30 from a company called pro mac, but they are out of buisness. anyway i thoght it was cool, and i looked at it, and it looks just like a currie d300 twinstick made to work on the j30! I look at them everyday (I work for 4wheel parts) I was planning on just bringing one home one day to look and see what i would have to do to make it work, but maybe i should just save my money for saginaw,(my arms are getting so tired i almost cant do my 12oz. curls sometimes!)
