I have long wanted to make a expedition type of vehicle for me and my family. It seems that all of you have some good information that your sharing. Threw all of the reading on this forum I havent found alot of web sites to help guide me on my search for parts and information. Do any of you have sites saved and frequent? Any help in any direction of a expedition type of build would be grealt apprecited

Keep researching, you'll see lots of websites thrown around, just start a new "favourites" folder in IE or whatever web browser you are using.
Start with this one:

You'll get tons of great info there (and here) and you can start learning from others' experience. ;)

You need to decide on where you plan to go and for how long and then design the vehicle around that.
Matching the various components is important,its no point having food and water for 5 days but only enough battery power for fridges and lighting for 3 days.
Another of the big challenges is storing and retrieving all the gear you want without having to turn everthing upside down.
The weight of the accessories you add must also be constantly checked
