http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Build/full/New%20Fender%201-1024.jpg
NetBSD 05-09-2008, 01:30 AM cut the front fenders
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Build/full/New%20Fender%204-1024.jpg
then i figured id wheel it as is for a bit, so i removed the sway bars and got a few cases of beer and head out to the camp sites

you know i couldnt find my damn grinder anywhere. i needed as good workout anyway
WHITE RHINO 05-09-2008, 11:30 AM SAS id say those wheel spacers are going to put stress on the wheel bearings fo sho
wanderer-RRORC 05-09-2008, 11:44 AM SAS id say those wheel spacers are going to put stress on the wheel bearings fo sho
yea...I was curious about them too...
other than that...SWEET ride...
oh..and either do the ttb35 upgrade to the front (stronger joints..)...
or SAS..and LOCKERS... you'll love lockers!!
Nor Cal Wheelin 05-09-2008, 12:07 PM Looks good. Keep making progress, and one you might be HARD CORE. :D :flipoff2:
One thing though.
Ditch the wheel spacers... Bad news. That weak ass front end, doesnt need any help losing bearings.
King7765 05-09-2008, 12:24 PM Post up some info on your dual "alternators"
mjlogan88 05-09-2008, 03:37 PM looks like fun. grab a set of axles out of an exploder, weld the rear, and it will get you by while gathering sas parts. i planned on sas'ing mine, but am so stoked on how it works with the D35/8.8 that i might just keep the ttb.
NetBSD 05-09-2008, 06:02 PM the dual alternators are just 2 stock b2 alternators ran in line, real simple to make if you removed the A/C. as for the wheel spacers, i know alot of you guys hate them but money was tight and i got them for $120 so i cound clear the LTB's and havent had a problem yet (knock on wood). im not going to even bother with the d35 and 8.8 im just gunna toss a 44 and 9" in thurr and be done with it, looking for maybe a 4" lift after i get that done.
didnt get to do the fenders today due to alot of rain and no damn garage yet :mad3: but hopefully after work tomorrow i get a lil done and finish it up sunday.
oh yeah, dont come wheelin with me unless you like sitting and waiting for me to change an axle.
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/S6300023-1024.jpg
i managed to do that in a simple wash out, buddies jeep on 38's didnt make it and i had a few beers in me and gave it a go, front tire came off the ground and as soon as it hit again i seen sparks. but i did make it further then the jeep did
IROK Cherokee 05-09-2008, 09:17 PM Cough cough.....snorkle again.......
fordman1978 05-09-2008, 09:30 PM looks like some good progress for a beater.

:flipoff2:
i actually used it the other day, so yes it comes in handy till it gets ripped off by a tree or rock
Merace19 05-15-2008, 02:06 PM I must have broke 10 of those front axles. I had it down pat on replacing them. But mine had a factory locker up front and that bitch was tight.
Optikal illushun 05-15-2008, 10:38 PM i always wondered whos B2 this was in town, i seen it all the time sitting there.
looks good so far, someday ill get a trail pig.

yup, i drive a blue 88 F-350 diesel on 35s.
NetBSD 05-16-2008, 03:17 PM yup, i drive a blue 88 F-350 diesel on 35s.
well if ya wheel it youll have to come out behind wilberton one of these weekends, thats where ive been wheeling the past few weeks. hopefully i get the fenders and tranny cross member done for tomorrow, that is if the fawkin weather holds out long enough
Optikal illushun 05-16-2008, 08:53 PM ya i used to go up there and still do. last time i went out i was up the hogie. been trying to stay outta the bush for a while until i get back on my feet.
scripts 08-08-2008, 02:02 AM Any updates?
NetBSD 09-06-2008, 10:23 AM well nothing really to update. money is real tight and i havent had time to build but i did have time to wheel a lil bit and i did manage to snap the tail shaft in the fm146 pulling out at a stop light :shaking:
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/tail-shaft/DSCN0573-800.jpg
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/tail-shaft/DSCN0569-800.jpg
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/tail-shaft/DSCN0568-800.jpg
so now i got a m50d in it but waiting on the new shifter bushings and shifter extension
m50d on top, fm146 on bottom
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/tail-shaft/DSCN0575-800.jpg
and what i found when i pulled the shifter out of the m50d, you tell me whats missing :shaking:
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Tranny/S6300060.jpg
thats it for now. still waiting on my buddie to pull the d60 rear outof his J truck so i can toss the 60 and 44 under the b2
wtr40rock 09-07-2008, 05:56 PM as long as you can get a transfercase with a passenger side front output you'll be good with the j truck stuff but, i tried to go the same route and ended finding a 78 f100 4 wheel drive and used the hipion dana 44 and 9 inch from it.
NetBSD 09-07-2008, 07:33 PM as long as you can get a transfercase with a passenger side front output you'll be good with the j truck stuff but, i tried to go the same route and ended finding a 78 f100 4 wheel drive and used the hipion dana 44 and 9 inch from it.
the 44 is a drivers side drop, the guy im getting them from has the J truck body/frame but a ford drivetrain :D i made sure before i told him id buy them
NetBSD 09-24-2008, 05:03 PM well a lil bit of an update
fixed the shifter and leaky plugs in the m50d
also installed the 3" shift extention for the 3" body lift
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Tranny/plugs.jpg
and i just picked up my 8 lug d44 30 minutes ago for $20

http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Axles/8lug-d44/s6300014.jpg
yes its a low pinion but it was only $20 and should work good for me, gunna rebuild it and regear it over the winter along with the FF60 im gettin with a locker in it
Stranger ranger 09-25-2008, 05:57 AM 20 bucks sounds like a good deal to me. talk about a builder on a budget haha but aren't most of us? With the money you saved you can go look for some flat tops now and do a high steer.

yeah flattop knuckles is the way i wanna go but we will see. its really hard to get extra cash together with just buying a house and having a 9 month old daughter. i dunno how all these guys do it that go to school and work.
what gearing do you guys think i should go with for running 35" tires and maybe 38's? im keeping the 2.9 for a while yet till after i get the axles under and then maybe doing the 4.0 swap but im not doing a v8 swap.
HahnsB2 09-25-2008, 04:02 PM 5.13s, no question.
NetBSD 09-25-2008, 05:35 PM ok so im trying to find the BOM on this axle and the only numbers i found were "046A" on the pumpkin. as for the gears in it now they read...
"1 3183 DANA D 18515 A3U157 41-11 391"
this mean anything to you guys?
i got a mess to clean up with this axle :shaking:
every single ring gear bolt is loose and its all mud/grease/leaves inside the housing and tubes.
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/b2/Axles/8lug-d44/s6300020.jpg
EDIT: found the BOM and its 6101395, now i have a PDF here that tells ya what the BOM matches but it omnly has "610139" there isnt any with the 5 on the end and without the 5 is shows "1981-85 J10, J20, Wide Track Cherokee"
HahnsB2 09-25-2008, 05:37 PM It has 3.73s.
NetBSD 09-25-2008, 06:00 PM It has 3.73s.
yeah thats what i was told from the guy i got it from, and theres no way im going to pull them with 3.73's and a 2.9. now to figure out my gearing options.
im reading this hurr PDF and it says i might need a high ratio case, this is all new to me and i know jack about it, i also dunno if its reverse cut or what. someone point me in the right direction to learn more about this.

I"m with you on that one, except for the daughter bro. I work full time and still end up not having enough money to do anything.
NetBSD 12-31-2008, 07:20 AM well no new updates, moneys been to tight for parts but im slowly getting my d44 parts list put together and gunna grab a 9" soon. decided to go with a 9" and convert the 44 to 5 lug.
anyway heres some pics from wheelin
some guy in a stock tracker was trying to follow me and my buddies, so i used my tow strap alot
http://imnotmark.zapto.org:3030/Pics/Bronco/Wheelin/s6300115.jpg

so ill be working on some sort of body protection, this rig does see the street so i do need working lights
MX489 01-01-2009, 02:09 PM Low pinion= standard rotation
High pinion= reverse cut
You will prob need a 4.10+ carrier to install 5.13's
NetBSD 01-01-2009, 02:42 PM Low pinion= standard rotation
High pinion= reverse cut
You will prob need a 4.10+ carrier to install 5.13's
yes i do need a 4.10+ for 5.13's. i got it all figured out a while back just waiting for some funds to get the parts
kemicalburns 01-06-2009, 11:47 AM the only bummer with that low pinion front is your drive line angle is gonna suck and if you ever find a hi pinion unit the ring and pinion will not carry over to the hp axle. I honestly wouldnt bother with it and locate a hp D44. you will be way ahead.

find me a HP leafe sprung 44 for $20. local yard has any front axle for $75 but you cant find a leaf sprung one or one with removeable C's. slim pickins around here. if i do find one before i do the swap i will grab it but until then the LP is the way im goin, wont see much lift anyway so i dont think the angle will be much of an issue.
