I have a 88 zuk with a yota 22re w-56 tranny and toyota t-case with 5.71 gears and run 4.10 axle gears in the stock toyota axles. Locked in front (lockrite) and welded in rear.

Here is my Qs
I am thinking of switching to some new tires. I want to go bigger.
Im currently running 33x12.5 tsls on 15x10 inch aluminum wheels.

Im wanting to run either the : 34X10.5 LTB on 15X8 black steel wheels with a + offset or the 36X12.5 TSL on 15x8 black steel and + offset.

If I run the 34s im wondering if they will be to skinny ?
If I run the 36s will they be to heavy and rob to much power? Will the 36s cause me to break birfs in the yota axles all the time?

I havent broke a birfield yet running the 33s. I have wheeled some very tuff stuff in the black hills of SD .
I plan on running trails in the Hills and also local stuff that consistd of slimy slippery rocks and mud and also Snow in the winter.

Recomendations, thoughts and comments on this. Gimme the pros and cons . Got another Idea let me know.

Thanks
:smokin: Lets hear it

The OD on the 34 LTB is 0.2" larger than the 33x12 TSL, so you will gain 1/10" clearance.

The 33 TSL is as big as most 34's or even some 35's.

I'm running the 34 x 9.50 Swamper and find them perfect for the terrain around here which is mainly muddy climbs, bogholes and rutted tracks. (I have also done some snow and rock (very limited) and they worked fine.) I like them cause they clean nicely, easy on the steering and components and fit with minimal lift about 5" combined suspension/bodylift and fender trimming.

i say run the 36 if and only if you have or will lengthen it. a 35-36" tire is just too tall for the stock wheelbase of a zuk. just my op.

Who Makes 5.71 T-Case Gears? I know you can get 4.1 or 4.7 gears, and I know 5.71's are an aftermarket gear on Yota Axles (weak, but an option) and you say you have 4.10 in the axles... Just curious...

As far as 36's... The 22RE pulls them fine, even with stock gears (4.10) in the Yota axles... Not like a healthy american V-8, but its ok...

It is 4.71 gears in the Toyota T-case.
4.10 in the Axles.

I believe That I am longer than stock im sitting at about 86 inches
I cant remember what stock Zuk is.

Get 36s, you'll just want the bigger ones later otherwise.

front= 4"frame ext , rear springs up front , shackle reversal , 2'center pin offset , 1.5" per side spring inboard (for turning) , fender trimming , 2.5 in offset 15x8 wheels

Rear= toyota rear springs 1.5" center pin offset (to the rear) , missing links , fender trimming , 2.5 in offset 15x8 wheels , and a pintle hook for your parts trailer!:D
that's one way do do it
