Sorry for the noobie post here but i have searched the freakin' hell out of this and either I'm blind or stupid, or both but I can't find the answer!

I have a 2000 Land Rover that I have swapped a Isuzu 4bd1t/700R4 into but I'd like to swap in a GM manual trans at this point.

I know the 3500 is a little weak for the application but it will suit the truck well overall I think.

Can you swap the 32 spline output shaft out of the 96 and up GM NV3500 (internal hydraulic clutch release) for a 23 spline Jeep 3550 one so as to swap it to a Jeep transfer case? I have plenty of other ways of doing this swap - but this would be a nice *easy* way to go if it's possible. I have rebuilt auto transmissions and older 4 speeds (T-18, 420, 465's etc etc) a bunch but have no experience at all with the Getrag/NV/NP 5 speed stuff.

Thanks all - go easy on the noob huh?!

Doug.
