Hello everyone. we finally started work on my truck. Had it parked in my brothers yard.when we went to move it we noticed a large purple puddle under it....oh oh!.
I had to put 3 liters in the tranny before it would move. we checked all the lines and they were good, we took of the pan and cleaned it and reinstalled it, but it still leaked. we decided to take off the tranny and with the help of my nephew and niece, we had it off in no time. my brother suspected the seal might have been damaged. oh yeah, did i mention the tranny was rebuilt last fall and maybe has 5km on it!. when we had the tranny on the bench we took a look at it. the seal looks ok. the o-ring looks like it could be replaced.we cleaned up the "front plate" where the front shaft is. and we noticed that it was weeping along the bottom edge of the plate.
now, about the only thing my hasn't worked on is transmissions. he has done a lot of work on my vehicles and others. he just finished putting on a new carb and manifold on my truck, last winter the truck would not run, and now with the new carb it purrs lol.
but anyways my question is,how hard is it to take off the front plate.we think it might be the gasket is damaged. we took off all the bolts and tried to pry it off. we did not want to use too much force, so....how does it come off?:shaking:
