ok I know some have seen the posts where I was asking how to get a second alternator and a york in the jeep at the same time well I finaly got it!!!!

any way i have gotten both the YORK and the 2nd alternator mounted last night. put a belt on the alternator and it actually worked!!!!! the only thing left to do is make the control box. went to radio shack and they have gotten rid of all the cool stuff. only had junk left.

any way anyone looking to make an On Board Welder (OBW) this is the way to go.

Very nice solution.

Thanks for posting it and the link to your other pictures.

Question: How do you have the drive belts configured?

York Powered by a V belt from the original Alternator? and the Second Alternator Powered by a small belt from the York?

Thanks in advance.

got a Kilby Vbelt on my alternator and the belt from that runs the inside v-belt on te york. the outside vbelt of the york runs the welder. right now I just have a v belt that slides over the serpentine pully but I will replace that as soon as I find one. I keep the welder belt off unless i need it. I don't see any need to have it spinning the whole time, it isn't like I am going to get the urge to weld while in rush hour. and beside it only take about 5 sec to get the belt on.

one other thing I need is a hand throttle. I actualy don't have one and it will come in handy
