So I'm going cross-country with my girlfriend in her '89 YJ. We're seeing some great stuff, but between the money flying out the glovebox, to her bad spill on her DR350 in South Dakota, overheating in Utah, and a hole in the gas tank, it's feeling a little less like a vacation! There is a huge hole in the tank, burned through by the exhaust. We're in Vegas or the next two weeks at her mom's, so I'm looking for a new tank. It is a 20 gallon plastic for an '89 Wrangler, bone stock. The dealer wants something like $357 and the best used price has been $350! Does anybody have one or can someone tel me where to look? I haven't had much luck online finding the 20 gallon replacement.
Thanks
Tyler
..I'll ask around here and If I can find one...I can bring it up to you!!!...

Hmm I'm not sure if the 89 one is the same as the later ones, but I have a 20 gal plastic tank with skid, and baffles for a 90's YJ. It has the rectangular opening on top for the sending unit / fuel pump. I do not have the fuel pump or sending unit for it though. It also has the filler on the driver side with one tube larger than the other. If this will work for you I'll ship the whole thing for $100 + shipping from twin cities MN. Probably will not be expensive to ship doesn't weight much.

Hey jeepboyben, that sounds good. I'll pull the tank sometime tomorrow probably. We've been getting by on the 7 gallons it holds and jerry cans. I don't need the sending unit and the pump is mechanical, so that's no problem. That would be a real lifesaver! I'll let you know. Thanks

Hey jeepboyben,
I checked the tank out and I think it will work. If not, I'll make it work. Just PM me your info or email me at Pytbool@aol.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks

Emailed you. Do you want me to send the skidplate and straps with the tank? They are on it now, but it may be cheaper to ship without. I have no use for them however.
