I have 31 10.50 R15 on my stock(81 toyo) 15in rims. I found a set of tires for sale 35 12.50 R15. I just finished lifting it 6". Would these tires work on my stock rims or would it be awkward looking/driving?

I will depend on the backspacing and the width of the rim. 12" wide tires should really be on at least a 8" wide rim. If the backspacing is wrong you will have bad rubbing issues.

It should work. The tires might rub on the leaf springs. If so you can just get a set of spacers. I currently run 14.50 width tires on 8" rim, no big deal.
