A friend of mine just got a new truck and is a little hesitant to start dilling holes in it. Has anyone mounted a brake controlller somewhere in the cab and either not drilled hole or drilled them in an unobtrusive manner? Pics would be greatly appreciated. Also need to know by tomorrow afternoon cause we're leaving to go wheeling then. Also it's a 6speed so mounting it on the left side of the front kick well won't work (that's where he had it before in his 97 dodge.) Any replies greatly appreciated. I know I know he should drill into the truck and that's probably what we'll end up doing but it's only three weeks old and he still has the new truck syndrome.

On my brothers 01 Dodge that is also a 6 speed I used the supplied bracket and just drilled new holes in it and used the lower dash screws. I also mounted his Comp Chip with the supplied bracket next to it. Here's a pic of the chip mounted (not mine) the brake controller is just on the other side where the gauge is in the pic. :D At lease you can see the screws I'm talking about.

on my 96, I just pulled off the plastic cover, cut off a section of the foam on the back side, drilled two holes and mounted the trailer brake controller right on the cover using some fender washers.

I've got an auto 2001 and it's mounted below the ashtray, as far down as you can go. About an inch from the edge.

I've got a '97 w/a 5 speed, I mounted mine to the right of the steering column (so I can leave my left hand on the wheel, and shift and do the brake controller w/the right). I just stuck it to the lower part of the dash (where it is sloped) with double sided foam tape, figuring if it came loose I'd figure something else out. Been on for 15 months, and still solid. The tape was white, but I used a black marker on the exposed side, and you can't even see the tape. Plus no holes.

yeha we ended up putting it on the trim screws below and to the left of the ash tray. Thanks for the replies
