Okay, if I plan on going to mud bogs with Detroits front and rear, how will I fair?

Will I get a good bite, or will I slip around a bit?

Now for a really stupid question that I can't find an answer to...

I have heard a lot about locked up front and rears not doing well in slippery mud and snow. What if I only lock one hub for snow and mud? Will that cause too much stress on the locked shaft? Will it work okay? Would that be pointless?

Help a fawkin newbie out!!!

WHOA! Lock one hub for a mud bog? What are you? Nuts? Just lock them in and hammer down, Mud Bog is not a brains required sport. Locked front an rear is the only way to go. If you've gots lots and lots of motor you may feel a little torque steer from the front locker, but not so much that you couldn't steer.

Okay, I have just seen a lot of mud only trucks run open front diffs.

I thought the truck would drift to one side or the other instead of just shittin' and gettin'.

PM Tex or show him this thread. He's got about as much knowledge as mud running as anyone I've seen.

Why would you want anything less than all 4 tires pulling you through?
