i have a 91 xj with no gauges or any sort of dash.
does anyone have a picture of a custom sort of dash setup that is installed in a cherokee. i was just thinking of getting a sheet of aluminum, bending and cutting till it fit but still not sure......:

trim to fit
or just keep the dash there and put gauges in it (remove stock ones)
Cage it and hang after-market gauges across the dash bar. With no dash, in place, the pre-97 XJ is a roomy cabin. With a custom cage I see no problem fitting 4 average people and plenty of gear/spares/supplies into that setup.
I run a '94 2 dr with no dash; mounted the stock guage pod to the firewall in the ctr as a temporary setup.
Crappy pic, but you get the idea:

Why not get a dash from a fully optioned XJ? Around here, that's about $25 and 15 minutes at the yard.

I just took out the factory stuff made a sheet metal face and installed aftermarket gauges.
Was the easiest solution.
