Hi Guys,

I came across a deal that I couldn't pass up. its an older LUV ( I know not the best truck in the world). Picking it up for free from a friend of mine that wanted a project and then found a SUB. Any ways My question to you, I am going to do a SAS on it. I am thinking about going full size axels. This truck will never see the street again so those laws don't matter. I am not that up on th Chevy models so I here ya go? Does Chevy run a D44 front axle? if so what years if any are there that have the diff to the passanger side instead of the driverside? I am wanting to go that route so I can go with the full size Axles instead of going with a D30 outta of jeep or a Toy Front.

Thanks

All Chevy SAS's are passenger side diff. 2 models were offered, a dana 44 and a corporate 10 bolt. Both axles are viable units for your proposed swap and in my opinion are about equal, for a front.

I heard the Chevy 283ci will bolt up to the Luv's 4 speed. If there is any truth to that, it may be an option to conciter in your build up.
