Hi all,
Is the crankshaft and the transmission bolt patternof the 4.0 equal to the 3.0? Its a Ranger 1997.
Thanks in advance,
Pato

Bellhousing to block is different between the two engines.. the 4.0 shares it's bell pattern with the 2.8/2.9. The 3.0 is it's own little world.

Not sure on the flywheel to crank, but I doubt it.

if the flywheel/flexplate does bolt up you need to make sure they have the same balance also. I know the 4.0L and the 2.9L do because I have swapped them before but as far as the 3.0L goes I don't know.

Do you think this FP will bolt my 4.0 OHV? Are different between SOHC and OHV? This FP is for "E" vins..mine is "X"

The bolt circle on the 3.0 crankshaft is larger then the 4.0 family crank shaft, 97 and up 4.0s have 8 bolt crankshafts on ohv/ohc.
