: making a custom steering shaft...help!

ok i installed some kinda GM steering box, now i need to figure out how i can make a steering shaft for the jeep column to the GM box....any ideas?

i took the easy way out and bought a borgeson shaft.

there can't be that many different spline counts on gm boxes. I'm pretty sure that between a manual steering cj, manual steering yj, power steering cj, and power steering yj (which all seem to have different spline counts) that you could find the lower half of a stock shaft to fit togetehr w/ the upper half of yours

I say go to a junkyard and start counting splines

Most driveline shops sell Flaming river u-joints, i just got one of those, some cold rolled 3/4 bar, and it was done cost about 40 bucks for 2 u-joints

now do they sell those yokes with teh u-joints already assembled?? hmmmmm

cool i am going to make some calls and a trip to the junkyard....let ya guys know how i come out

man the cheapest i can find the flaming river u-joints are $69 each :( anyone seen them cheaper?
