Is there a chance in hell that I can ship a stripped Dana 60 UPS (gotta be under 150 pounds)? When I say stripped, I mean nothing but the center housing, the tubes, and the inner knuckles... no carrier, no bearings, no seals, no nuthin....

the housing weighs about 100lbs so it shouldn't be a problem. I thought RC60's were ?

If the housing alone weighs 100 lbs....then there's no way the the housing with tubes and inner knuckles will weigh under 150 lbs. I bet it weighs 200 lbs.

I think Lance means the housing as in the diff, tubes, and inner knuckles. That is generally what a "housing" is.

Why are you set on using UPS? YellowFreight, ForwardAir.. lots of people out there who will ship it...

That may be what he meant....but there's no way a RC front minus the outer knuckles, axle shafts and carrier weighs 100 lbs....those fawkers are heavy

I am referring to a center section, tubes, and the C's. It's not very heavy.

Give a call to whoever sells just the bare Terra low-pro center chunks - find that out, then figure in the inner knuckles and tube... Should be able to get a good close guesstimate that way...

I have no problems with RC front 60s, just RC *REAR* 60s.

Seller's choice, not mine.

The deal is still up in the air, shipping may make up half the cost.

Still could be a good deal, just not sure 'tis worth the work.

I had shipped to me the same exact thing... RC60, tubes and C's.

With the pallet, I think they billed it as 150lbs.

I weighed one of mine...155lbs center, tubes, and c's.

I calculated the density of the tubes alone on a front D60 (1/2" wall tubes) and guessing 36" of tube, thats 45 lbs. alone!!
