Well...if you don't have to buy it...then I don't see why it would have to be figured into the cost to build...

Thats how I see it...Some people say that you bought it at some point so it should be figured in...

Less than $800 in this then...

If you bought some 60's or a built 460 a few years ago and just got to them I'd count that but if you had an intake manifold from some old project or some radius arms, or you swaped a C6 for a NP435,and had the C6 laying arround, I probably wouldn't count that. The things that were swaped out for other things don't really count as a cost to me.

All of the spare parts I had were from trucks I parted out over 10 years ago...

Including the 460,c-6 & so one...Iv also had a set of 60s sitting around for 13 years They will go in when I get bigger tires

Amazing you only have $800 into it.

My '78 is bone stock, and I have $1200 into my 466 alone (few hundred to go too), and I havent touched anything...and I mean anything else yet!

I sortof look at it this way...

Sure you bought it at some point (and may have even used it in the past, too), but then you decided something better can take it's place. So it gets swapped aside and otherwise probably would get thrown away if you hadn't found a new use for whatever item it is. So (with an occasional exception), I don't normally count the "old stuff laying around".
