I blew out my I6 258 in my 83 CJ7 and have found a SBC 350 V8 to drop in there. Id like to talk to someone who has done this before so I can get an idea of what im getting into.
Please send me an email at robp@raptor.net if you have some info you can give me.
Thanks,

The 350 CJ swap can get kinda complicated. Some issues you need to have sorted out include:
1. Electrical/ignition
2. motor mounts
3. possible radiator upgrade
4. power steering accesories (if your equipped)
5. AC compressor (for OBA or AC)
6. engine-->clutch
7. clutch--> transmission
8 transmission-->xfer case
9. any changed drive shaft lengths based on what you did above.
On my 85 CJ7 i ended up yanking every wire in the engine compartment except for the lights. I run an MSD6 box hooked up to an MSD coil which is hooked into a Mallory Unilite distributor. I don't run any smog stuff so that may be a concern to you. 90% of my gauges are aftermarket except for the speedo.
For motor mounts I went with MORE bombproof.
My radiator is not stock, but I don't know exactly what it is because I got it from a buddy who decided not to do the swap. Standard Chevy PS pump hooked up to stock steering box. My york is now compressing air for OBA.
When I did my swap i didn't know enough about hydraulic clutches so I went with a mechnical setup. I run an SM465 behind my LUKPRO clutch. Ended up using a block from Advanced adapters to make my jeep clutch linkage work with my chevy bellhousing. Behind my SM465 i have a NOVAK adapter to make it work with my D300. This kit involved replacing the input shaft on my D300 which was no big deal except that a bearing had to be pressed on. I twin sticked the D300 while i was down there.
Drive shaft lengths didnt change more than 1/2 inch so no problems there.
Anything specific you want to ask email me.

Who the fawk are you calling a dumbass......
This person can find a world of information just by searching for SBC in the Jeep section. You better jump back before you call somebody a dumbass, when he gets a little deeper into his swap and has some specific questions I will be more than happy to give a specific answer.
I guess I could have posted a few links to useful information so here is some hand fed information.

I am tired of looking, but the information is out there to get you headed in the right direction. If you cannot find a answer to a specific question ask, we will be glad to help, but a blanket question like I want to put a 350 in my Jeep what do I need to do will not be answered, we could type all day long to fully answer that question.
Rob, I will be glad to help in anyway I can, don't take my first post the wrong way. I just wanted to let you know there is more information out there then we could ever type on this BB.
CJBull, Please take this the wrong way.... Go Fawk yourself and you comments.. !!!
