I am in a bind now...Just put gears, ARB and one piece axles into this thing and The shop must of not caught that the tubes have spun in the housing (due to a heavy foot when I broke the rear Drive shaft) because as soon as I left the shop there was a new vibration from a bad pinion angle...
So Do i find another housing and insert all my new shit, truss it and run her until she breaks?
Or Start all over?
I could maybe come up wit the cash in a couple of months for a new axle.
CJ7 with 33's, and a 350 Chevy.

First, you should shoot the mech. in the shop for not catching the spun tubes.
Right now, your cheapest route is to find another AMC20 housing.

Housing. Truss/Weld the tubes. That, with your one-piece axles, will make your M20 a really decent axle for your application.

Yeah, i am pretty pissed that they did not catch it...I am trying to see f they can help me out on this.
I think I found another housing with detroit and one piece already in it for $250
Seems fair

Yeah seems like a good deal The Detroit alone is near worth the $250 and with the one piece axles makes it a good deal. Does it have the same gears as your front axle? If so it should be bolt on and go.

Oh yeah on the replacement axle with the Detroit, I run the same thing with 35's. I welded the tubes and have never had a problem. I drive with a medium to hot foot. But i also run a 4.2 ltr w/4.0 head w/Mopar MPI. Not as much torque as your 350. If I ran a 350 like you I would really consider welding the tubes and trussing.

it actually has 4:56's ...Same as the front. But I would probably take the detroit out to put my ARB in and then re sell it?
I have 5 mins left on the ebay auction! Lets see if I get it?

I ran my AMC 20 for 20 years or so of wheeling. It seemed to work well with 35 inch tires and a MPI 4.2. I found a good deal on a 9 inch, so i wanted to take the 20 out. I also found my tubes had been spining on my perches and the housing had been jumping. I wouldnt put another cent into a AMC 20. Go with a 9 inch- simple and strong as hell.
