i'll try to make it quick :)
D30
8.8
just installed the 8.8/4.56's and detroits F&R
had no drivetrain problems before install
when backing off the gas and when shifting, i get a clunk from tranny/tcase area. it happens whenever there is not a load on the drivetrain. like there is some play or slop somewhere.
now that the front driveshaft is always spinning with the detroit, i wonder if this is the cause.
any suggestions?
oh and it's the peugeot which i know is gonna go but not this soon.
thanks

WELCOME to the wonderful world of the detriot locker, yep, if you get off the clutch fast when shifting you will get a clunk. I thought I trashed mine but soon learned that this is NORMAL.. Go figure, now I know why they came out with the SOFT locker...
Enjoy!!!!!

See welded diffs don't have that problem. :flipoff2:
;) Okay I will quit now, but if you bitch about that disco screwing up and making the detroit useless I will have to rear my ugly head again.
Pretty normal for a Detroit as the others have said.

weld this :)
after i wheeled yesterday, i was able to get the bugs out and basically get familiar with the detroits. the clunk has gone away with a revised shift/driving style. going around curves is trick. as far as 4WD- it's a totally different world than my open front and LSD rear.
i am STOKED
