: Flat pitman arms

I have a 93 ranger that I am getting ready to 3 link the front on using a wagoneer axle. It is currently setup with cross over steering using the raised dana 44 arm on the passanger side from Skys. I still have the tierod on the stock mounts. My problem is that the pitman arm is looking like it is going to hit or come real close to the drag link at full up travel. The current pitman arm I am using looks to have 4" of drop on it. I am not sure if this is factory or not. The truck had a rancho lift on it when I bought it and I just reused the pitman that was on it. I would like to have something with maybe 2" drop. I mostly just need it to fit the box. I can ream the TRE side out to fit the Chevy TRE that I am using now. Has anyone found a arm like this? I am trying to save myself the 70 mile drive each way to the junkyards if I am out of luck.

Stock J10/J20waggy pitman arm is flat. That might work. It's fairly long though, ~8", you should match the pitman arm length to the length of your high steer arm.

Give parts mike a call. They helped me when I did my mix n' match crossover steering on my Scout, using a GM steering box, ballistic fab high steer arms and Jeep wagoneer D44 knuckles.

The pitman arm from a ranger, 80-96 f-150, 250, 350, BII, or explorer is a bolt up. Deal is, I don't htink there's any rhyme or reason to what trucks got which pitman arm since there are three styles. one is totally straight, one has about a 1" drop in it like the one in guidolyons post, and another has a 1.5-2" drop.

My 1985 4x2 F-150 came with a factory pitman arm that had the 1" drop in it, I had a '80 4x4 with the straight arm, and a 86 4x2 with the straight arm. Most 3/4 and 1 tons I've seen have the 2" drop arm, but I have seen a few with the straight arm and the 1" drop.

It will be a junkyard adventure, but if you want 0-2" drop you can find one in a stock ford application.

Cool sounds like an easy fix if it ends up being a problem. Thanks for the help.
