: Spun Dana 44 Axle Tube

I just figured out that I have even more damage from a past run. I seem to have spun an axle tube on my rear Dana 44. I have never done this kind of damage before. Anyone know just how to go about fixing this?

amazingly, I have experience in this from this past weekend.

I assume the pinion rotated up, and I'm guessing that only one side spun. You have a couple of options:
Take a LARGE pipe and run it under the pinion and under the ceter section out the back of the housing. Chain the pipe to the pinion (hang it form the pinion). Then place a jack under the end of the pipe and jack up that tube until the center section rotates around to where you need it. I'd at least plug weld it while the jack was still in place.
I used a pipe wrench that was big enough to wrap around the axle and attached a chain to it and used a hoist in the same manner as the jack in the method above.

I had a link break and then one axle tube rotated inside of the housing. I'm going to try that your fix and see if it works. Thanks, Robbie

looks like a prime time to do a axle transplant.

A 14 bolt will still do the same thing.

If you can get it back where it belongs try drilling two or three holes through the flange and tube, tap it and put in grade 8 bolts.
