Season went out on Saturday so I couldnt shoot one. Besides that wouldn't be turkey hunting, that would just be turkey killing.

I havent seen any yet, I think it may be a little early to see them out and about yet.

Yes, but shortly after it would be turkey eating...

Too bad our summer gobbler season went out.
It sure would have been nice if the season would have actually started when they were gobbling.

Do you still use the corn picker in the background?

Its a shame what they have done to our season. I rarely turkey hunt anymore. 2 weeks before the season came in, my 2 boys had 3 different turkeys gobbling.
Thats not a corn picker, thats a New Holland rake and a disc mower.

I thought the arm was the chute for a corn picker.
Can't tell the distance in the picture.

So you can hunt wind animals in NM without a license if it's on private land? Wow.... I know people who do it around here but it is still technicaly illegal...

It is technically illegal in NM too. Just cause wild game is on your property out of season it is still technically the states property and illegal to shoot out of season. If that were the case I would shoot every bambi and turkey I see at our place in Cloudcroft NM.

If I had the urge to be eating wild turkey tonight, I would be doing just that. However, I am trying to bring my boys up to obey the game laws and be a respectable hunter. Im sure they will be tempted soon enough, no sense in speeding anything up.

I could go for a shot of wild turkey though :grinpimp:

Turkey tastes better poached

Yep, you have to have a valid hunting license (or exemption), and follow all the applicable game laws. Resident landowners and their children can hunt on their property without a license, however must obey all game laws too. Your property has be a minimum acreage, but I can't remember what it is.
