: Chrysler wants comments!
Kurtuleas 05-28-2008, 09:35 PM Chrysler wants comments, so lets GIVE them some. LOTS of them.
Particularly comments asking them to help fund organizations like FOTR that takes care of a trail they named one of their vehicles after to put gobs of $$ in their pockets. (A little FOE and FOF and FOG and FOHL love would be nice too! :p)

GET IT!
randii 05-28-2008, 09:39 PM I'll head on over and do that -- the only thing that I'd pitch is that FUNDING is more a job for Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF). Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR) has its best strength in bringing together different volunteers and communities to work together, and sometimes even politick together, but as a loose-kit coalition, it doesn't have a finance component.
Head that way now...

momar 05-29-2008, 11:28 AM Hi,
I am an avid off road enthusiast who has been a huge Jeep fan since I was 3. I used to watch the Jeeper's Jamboree drive past my cabin every year when I was a kid. Since then my family and I have owned several Jeeps, and currently own an 81 CJ5. With the history your company shares with the Rubicon Trail, I am surprised that Chrysler has not stepped up and made some grants and publications to/about the organizations that work all year long to maintain the trail. As a member of several of these organizations, I would be greatly appreciative with your involvement in our efforts. Some such groups are Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR), Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF), and Friends of Eldorado (FOE). Some of the projects we undergo on the trail are repair projects, education of proper trail etiquette, and preservation of surrounding resources. Please keep these comments in mind and show the world that Chrysler is about a different kind of green.
Thank You,
Morgan DeRodeff
Jeepndel 05-30-2008, 03:10 PM Good job to all. They need to hear from us. FOTR is going on 8 (yea, eight) years strong and Jeep/Chrysler has never done a thing for the trail except test their rigs and use the name. So it's way past time for them to step up and donate to the Rubicon Trail Foundation to support Friends of the Rubicon.
thanks,
Del

Come on people we need to show them we're here and we care. Let them know that we are watching and very aware of their lack of helping to take care of one of their namesakes.

SlowMo 06-03-2008, 11:02 AM I sent them my letter a couple of months ago and actually got accepted to their Customer Advisory Board. The board mostly deals with design issues for Chrysler/Jeep vehicles, but I keep interjecting their lack of trail support into the mix. If anyone has any comments they want me to pass on let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Eco-Conscious Appearance

As a Jeep owner I am deeply discouraged by Jeep's lack of participation in on-the-ground trail conservation. Other large corporations, including GM (Hummer) and BF Goodrich, are actively involved in providing financial support to various conservation groups.
Jeep has named it's upgraded Wrangler the "Rubicon", but has not donated a cent towards the preservation of the trail that bears that name. Jeep should be the biggest supporter of the Rubicon Trail Foundation, as well as other organizations across the country that are dedicated to the preservation of our off highway trail systems. Unfortunately, Jeep has taken a back seat to others who are leading the way in this regard.
