oops that was my first post, hello all,im richard from australia, long time reader first time poster, great site, and some stunning examples of toyotas here,my everyday car is an 84 fj60,what are peoples thoughts on bolting up the ute body onto a bj 42 of similar vintage,i believe its a bolt up swap,my main concern is can i move the rear diff back far enough to keep the wheel away from the rear of the utes body or will i need to cut away some body, thanks

i think the body mounts will be slightly different at the rear of the rig. other than that, the wheelsbase will definetly be your biggest obstacle and you can't move it much further back then maybe 6 inches without doing some serious frame work.
PS: welcome to the club!

thanks for that, that was my thoughts,i saw one done similarly recently, they had to chop into the lower corners of the ute tub for wheel clearance though, think ill just find another swb body if i can and contentrate on the 45 and come back to the 40,s thanks for the welcome
