I did a search and came across a few posts that said when using a longer spring than stock you have to move your spring hangers.
I am currently SOA (YJ) with 2" BDS. I want to put waggy springs on the rear to help gain a bit of d-shaft length. I have read alot of the posts involving 44044's and other waggy springs but have yet to see any info on if you guys are moving the stock hangers.
I would think moving the hangers would cancel out the added lift of the waggy springs on a YJ. But I dont want the shackles to be all outa wack either.
So, I guess my question is... Are you guys moving the spring hangers when going waggy springs?
Thanks for the info.

Really no need to move them with the YJ.

my waggies are on order, and a friend just put some on. he used some 1" shackles and the shackle angle was perfect. his shackles kinda sucked though (I have the same cheap shackles that came on mine when I bought the thing) I think im going to go with some currie shackles or maybe some 1" MORE shackles. no need to move the spring hangers at all. he ordered the 7 leaf heavy duty waggy springs from JC Whitney(as did I). he said he got about 2" of extra lift out of them compared to his old worn out springs.

you don't move the spring hangers. Waggy front springs are only 1" longer eye to eye than YJs so you get BETTER shackle angle. If you put a longer shackle on it you'll probably end up with a shackle angle like stock.

When i searched there seemed to be some confusion about how much lift a YJ gained from the 2.5" waggy springs (44044). I saw some people got 2" some got 4"...whats the total net lift amount from these springs?

the 7 leaf heavyduty springs, like those from JC Whitney, give about 2" of lift over stock CJ springs. Since the 44044's are 2.5" lift springs, i figure youd be getting ~4" lift.

Nope. The 44044s are about 2-2.5" over stock YJ after 2 trail rides.

Where can I get 44044s besides 4 Wheel Parts? I always prefer to deal with smaller places.
