Now i've been messing around with the idea of putting in an atlas 2sp. case in my mud drag. truck to loose some weight, (and not to mention i will be needing to go through my 205 anyway) and gain some better reduction in the tc. Then i started thinking about the tranny, i wanna stay with a 4sd, but want something more friendly for mud drags/bogs (ie i need to be able to shift, and i don't have enough power for a auto yet either), and since i've been running it in my dd and i know that they are way more than capable of handling the power and such, is there anyway to adapt a ford toploader 4sp to an altas/ np205? short of going to a divorced transfer case, there anyway of doing this?

toploader is kinda small for 4x4 use, maybe a Jerico version would be ok...maybe

I've seen them hold up in drag cars pushing 550+hp with only an upgraded clutch.

Advanced Adapters makes a tail shaft for the top loader to use with a bronco Dana 20 Transfer case. They also can mate an Atlas in place of a D20.
It can be done but cost $$$.
