Swap it in a Ramcharger frame, they are 106" wheelbase.

what happens to a diesel vehicle when you flip it over and cant turn it off. this happened to an f350 up at rausch creek and the truck kept running bouncing off the rev limiter while flipped over till it blew up.

well to be on the safe side on the diesel motor, u could fab up an air n fuel supply shut off like how they have on the sled pullers.

I've seen a diesel vw that had to much oil in the motor not shut off, the diesel will burn the motor oil and keep running. Probably same thing at Rausch, oil in the cylinder kept it going

I don't think you'd want to drive on on it's side or try to upright one by running it and cranking the wheel. You'd want to shut it down before it has a chance to run away.

Cut the frame off at the back of the cab. Then you can four link the rear axle to what ever wheel base you want. It's not that hard to do and it will articulate real well. As far a the cummins goes, it's a good motor for a crawler. We have a new 6 seat 2'' tube rock crawler chassis built with a 06 cummins in the rear into a Atlas reverse rotation box. I will post up some once it's on the ground. The cool thing is you can run it on veg oil..

I would cut and weld the 90 frame before I'd use one from a ramcharger, the 90 is a lot beefier. Cut at an angle, weld all the way through and add a fish plate on the inside of the weld. Thats the way I did it.

cut the frame. Its designed to handle the torque output of the motor. then x2 of what scout4bta said about fish plates

The Ramcharger frame is plenty to handle the engine output. There are many Ramchargers running around with 6BTs in them. The only difference in the frames other than the length is a small increase in thickness. Losing that won't make much difference in the end since the frame won't be used for hauling weight anymore, I do agree with Earthpig that probabaly the best solution is to cut the frame and link it. But still, I don't think I would section a frame when one is available and proven to work.

Either move the axle way forward or move the engine back a couple feet. Those trucks are 70% front heavy and that's a lot of weight.
