Is this even a comparison? The spool looks to be a less expensive way to go. . . what should be considered here?

whether you are going to spool a front or a rear axle. if its a rear i say spool it. more predictable handling.

Whether or not it will ever see the street too.

just thinking about the rear, and the only street usually, is on the way to the trail. But that could be a couple hundred miles.

spool it. i wish i would have saved the money when i did mine. they are cheaper and stronger.

oh yeah, get a full spool.

I would think about welding up a front in a trail only rig but wouldn't have a spool in the rear no matter how cheap it was. I'd rather have a open rear with steering brakes than a spool pushing me everywhere I don't want to go.
