Just picked up an '86 Suburban with 3/4 ton axles (10 bt & 14 bt), and a strong 350.

The biggest question is: are the front springs supposed to be negatively arched? The ride seems fine, it just looks odd to me. Looks like the prevailing swap is 52" springs? How much lift does that give?
The rears are 1-ton springs, I don't know the length.

I'm probably going to shove 37" tires under it, the best option for which seems to be the sawzall. Any objections? :D

What gear ratios are people running?

Thanks

the negative arch is normal for stock, for the 37's yeah sawzall. and with 37's that 10 bolt will be better off at a scrap yard.

You will need at least 4" of lift a a lot of trimming for 37's.
X2 for scrapping that 10 bolt front.

i'd ditch both axles, as the rear is a 14bolt sf.

Thanks, guys. There's plenty of rust, so the sawzall will be used with prejudice.

What are the best springs to throw in there to get ~4" of lift?
widmayer, what springs are you running on the 'Burb in your sig?

Genuine, Through 4Wheel parts.

The only other thing I did was changed the rear to a compresson shackle.(spelling??)

The rear is a full float out of a '79
