I am going to put one on for a guy for a little trade work, anyone running one to give me some fab pointers before I get the rig here to work on? I am guessing I will have to fab a crossmember for the front shackle part of the thing so sorta looking for ideas on how to do that too.
I've got some scrap 2" sq tubing around that I will probably make it from. Anyway, looking for input on mounting this Sams thing. I personally have the brackets from ruffstuff on my rig and am very happy with it, sams looks a bit chinsy from the pics anyway..
The guy is running stock cry'od axles with a SBC/700r4 and stock cruiser tcase.
thx :homer::grinpimp::smokin:
BTW, what would ya charge someone you don't know for something like this?

found this in another thread, sure seems that you would want the support for a bar like that to go all the way across and tie the frame together but this would be fairly easy

probably charge someone 3-5 hundred dollars to build and install one

he has the bar already, but he wants a full belly pan (it isn't flat at all). Thanks, hard to guess before starting but I guess that range is reasonable for doing the belly pan and mounting his sams bar (it needs to have holes drilled in the plats that mount to the axle but is otherwise complete).
Sorta lame you have to drill your own holes for the plates for a kit but I suppose depending on how the threads are the holes would be in different spots

That picture of that wrap bar is cool! Looks like it probably broke 10 minutes into it's first voyage.

agreed, I snagged it from the tow rig section though so it's not a wheeler, never seen anything done like that though.
This rig look familiar to anyone?

Here is my update. He wanted the mufflers protected so I used some fairly light 1x2x.120 tubing for that

You can see the track bar x-member tucked as hi as I could in the second pic too, still need to finish fully welding it and he wants a belly pan done which will be a bit of a pain since it isn't flat..
There isn't much clearance from the shackle to the tcase, I hope that shackle doesn't move a lot. I'll test it with the cherry picker on the wheel flex test to see what it does.

I don't think it is quite as tight as this pic looks but it is still pretty tight
