Krylon.. 09-13-2001, 01:13 PM Isn't the owner of that 7 on this board? I would like to know more about the Jeep if you dont mind or if someone else knows the specs on it!
Thanks! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">
Rubicrawler 09-13-2001, 01:18 PM If it's the same one I'm thinking of, the owners name is Clifton Slay and he works for Avalanch Engineering in CO.

10-4, that is the one. Being the end of the day, my mind is focused on goign home and I forgot to list that info...
Thanks.
Honkylips 09-13-2001, 02:33 PM I've ran into him a few times on trails. Nice trail rig, but i sure wouldn't wanna drive it on the road at speed. From what I recall, the back half of the frame has been removed and tubed. The floors are all cut out and replaced with iron mesh type stuff for easy access to t-case/tranny. One ton axles, 42" tires I think. Hydraulic steering, coilovers.....
Very capable rig on the trail from the little I've seen of it.
RHINO 09-13-2001, 03:31 PM the cj bruiser i know of won the arco rock crawls here in phx. and it was sprung under.
Jason M 09-13-2001, 03:35 PM Hey Clay,

Cool rig , imagine how much money is in it!!!!
SCRAPER 09-13-2001, 03:48 PM thats a sweet rig. i like his rollover in the magazine. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
Jason M 09-13-2001, 03:54 PM Personally I like the fact that he grafted FJ40 foot vents in the tub. I guess every Jeep needs a bit of cruiser parts to be really bad ass!!!!!

No that was different. Don Bernier won in Phoenix with the Blue CJ7 that has "Hoss" written on the sides of the hood.

My buddy did this using vents off a big rig. One of these days I'm a gonna build me a custom dash using a switch panel out of a big rig dash. If you look in big rig junk yards, some of them have some cool interior stuff that can be used on Jeeps.

Thats the one!!! Thanks! I went to the Avalanche site, but didn't see any more info on it...
That thing is sweet!!!
pcorssmit 09-14-2001, 11:29 AM I think there's a bunch of pics on the off-road.com site.
Pete
mtadams 09-14-2001, 04:14 PM Now thats what I call high-centered...
Flatty 09-14-2001, 04:27 PM Hahahahah too funny. That thing is bad ass, but I want to know why he went away from the 1/4 ellip setup he had in there from Avalanche? I guess the coil overs work better? or maybe the Avalanche setup really is a POS like everyone says.
Dimitri
Kensoffroad 09-14-2001, 06:19 PM Clifton works for avalanche. He went away from the 1/4 eliptic. Because the coil over was more stable.

I'm sure being that high off the ground he has pretty good access to the underside. Most people put expanded metal in the floor so they can see through it. Example if you get high centered on you cross member you can just look down and see how bad you are stuck, which is what I'm assuming he is doing in the pic.
Honkylips 09-15-2001, 10:57 AM True, what I fogot to mention is that there is a "trap door" in the floor to access the t-case/tranny. I would also assume to mesh is for visibility.
