: 315/75 16's on a 98 CTD - how much lift?
Will I need a full lift, or just a spacer for the front coils to clear 'em on 8" rims?
I'm running 285/75 16's now and there looks like there is tons of room to move up approx. 1.8" in diameter.
jstarnes 06-05-2008, 10:12 AM i run the 2 inch lift coils fro summit (cant remember the PN)
but it levels the truck the tires do hit the links but maybe 2 1/4 spacers (one each side) would stop that
stock 2002 alloy wheels was a stock 2002 2500ctd
the stock shocks work too
jhama78 06-05-2008, 10:16 AM bud of mine ran a set of 315s on his 01 with the stock alloy wheels and a 2 inch poly spring spacer.... worked fine barely scrubbed the links at full lock
sstockton 06-05-2008, 10:48 AM You can get them to clear with just a 2" leveling kit. The control arm rubbing will depend on the backspacing that you go with. I would personally go with a new wheel or rim instead of a spacer, just so you have a uniform look front and rear, or you could do spacers in the rear as well.

pcorssmit 06-05-2008, 11:15 AM I have 2 1/2" coil spacers on my '97, when I ran 8" (aftermarket w/std offset, the later OE ones are positive offset) with 315s I had no rubbing, with the 10" I have now it rubbed slightly on one inner fender, only when backing up and hitting a bump. I have since added the OE splash guards, and after some tweaking they still rub but only on tight turns, and not too bad.

the coils I used
stomp-a-jeep 06-05-2008, 08:44 PM bought some leveling spacers off ebay. Im running 315 bfg muds with aftermarket wheels, the only time they rub is on full lock and stuffing real hard. nothing to worry about though.
Thanks guys - that's the info I was looking for.
CJHeap 06-06-2008, 06:53 AM I ran them on my 98.5 when it was new without a lift. minor rub at lock.
But it depends on the tires. I was running the (New At The Time Goodyear MTZ).
u2slow 06-06-2008, 10:41 AM We put 2" leveling coils in my buddy's 96 CTD. Stock chrome steels w/Pro Comp Muds in 315/75R16. Minor rubbing on the fenders so he did a bit of trimming.
I run 315's on a set of aftermarket 16x8's at stock height. I get a little bit of rubbing at full lock when the suspension compresses, but thats it.
makya 06-07-2008, 07:03 PM Ran Toyo Open Country A/T's (315/75-16) on stock wheels with 2" spacers and just barely rubbed the control arm at full lock on an 01 2500 srw ctd.

Mosephus 06-08-2008, 12:05 AM Same here 2in Leveling kit up front on the newer 17in Rims, they rub on the control arms on sharp turns.

f0cker 06-08-2008, 10:47 AM If I had known last week I would have stopped on my way out to CO and you could have put one of my 315s on to see how they fit. I know a guy with 37s on a Power Wagon with just a leveling kit and some trimming. 35"s oughta fit with just a leveling kit.
BigDan 06-10-2008, 03:30 PM My old 99, 2" Revtek steel spacer and 5100's all around. I later added rear air bags because it would sag under a load.
My 35" MT's on 18's handle alot better then the 315's on 16's due to the shorter sidewal. Try to step up to 17's at least.
