Been wondering about this one. is there a way to make the stock t-case front wheel drive. I heard something about Brent's rig from Trail Tough having that ability. If someone could clue me in on how you do this i would be very thankful.

I asked this very question a while back and the answer was no...

Why do you want to do this?? Depending on your reasons, there may be other ways to get there...

Jesse at high angle is currently working on a way to fit a rearshaft disconnect to the back of a toy case for ToyFamily, Chris Geiger, and a couple others. Dunno about a Zuk case.

Before you worry about this to much . Do yourself a big favor and try driving your sami with no rear shaft one time. Youll forget about this whole project after ruining a perfectley good pair of underwear

Hi -

Yes, it is true, we re running it on our rock buggy. It is not intended to be used for driving around on your front axle. It's intended use is in conjuction with cutting brakes for adjusting your position in tight spots. It actually works quite well for this. It also makes it very convenient for people who flat-tow their Samurai. We currently have more pieces being machined to achieve this. It is a compact unit that replaces the rear flange. It will be available shortly.

I didn't want it for pavement pounding. Roksamy and I where talking about it one night and when i noticed your rig had it I was interested in how you got it to work.

Personally i've never seen this system work but I've seen how well cutting brakes work in the sand and I've pulled the E-brake enough times in front wheel drive cars to know what happens. Its pretty easy to peice together that this would work great in the rocks.

Is there a rough guess on how much this system is gonna cost.

would this be something that could bolt on to most sidedrive t-cases? as in how strong will it be?

Hi -

The cost is probably going to be close to $395.00 and it can be used on any Samurai t-case. It is just as strong and reliable as the rest of the t-case components.
