Since there has been a lot of heckling, about newbie style questions being asked here lately in the IH area, I just wanted let all you HECKLERS know that I took the time to hunt down some info regarding my backfiring and hesitation problem with my carb. I believe I have the problem narrowed down to two items. There will be a write-up thread about it as soon as I NAIL the EXACT problem down.
I normally wouldn't do a write-up, but since I was only able to find good info on the problem in my haynes (sp) Quadrajet repair manual (not easily found, as I had to order mine form Amazon.com) I figured it might be worth posting here for future reference..
......Please continue on to the next post as this one requires no response....Thank you!

Well why not? No one has had any good tech questions for awhile. I must have missed the part where you are using a quadrajunk. Besides this kind of a problem cam give a hardcore mechanic fits sometimes. stupid questions are the ones like wanting to know if 31's will fit on a stock vehicle. Some of the questions like how to seat a tire on the bead are hillarious as hell to some of us that never take a tire to a shop ever, or how to weld a piece of steel. Stuff like how to change gears from a T18 to a D20 is simple for you but is a whole new world for me so you won't hardly ever find me heckling about tech posts I am really interested in the carb problem cause I've got a carter doing the samething on my Olds.

The day you figure out how to put the 4 spd and reverse gears from a wide ratio truck transmission into a transfer case, you let me know. This may be the best low gearing option going yet!! :flipoff2: :p

Actually I did, but I don't expect anyone to believe it anyway. I was in the shop cussing the idiot that wanted me to do a tranny swap for him. When this project started it was supposed to be a np435 (manual) and while I was trying to get the torque converter bolts loose on this C4, I realized I had posted wrong.
BTW where is the write up on the carb?

Well I haven't had a chance to get back to working on it yet. I think it'll be up by monday if I get the "other" shit done quick this weekend.
