Does anybody know how long 2000 vintage AC compressers last for trail air compressers? I haven't pulled this one apart to look for a bolt to remove to add oil to the "crankcase" of the thing as some others brands have. This one is a Delphi brand.
I searched around some but didn't find much info. Can anyone point me towards a link if this has been covered?
If there isn't much info on this one, I will post up whatever I find out. It sure puts out fast air now, just wondering how long till it blows.
4.3 vortec, 2000 model with serpentine belt.

Off the top I don't think it has a oil resevoir.....? I know the York and earlier GM A6's had oil resevoirs. If you use an oil seperater inline and add an inline oiler it will add to it's lifespan.

you can put a oil seperator on the discharge line and use the suction side to bring it back in,. that will extend its life and keep it pumping....the comp has carbon fiber rings on the pistons ..if they dry up they will stick and damage the unit..
I've used my sanden for quite a while. Air tool oiler on the intake and filters on the exhaust.

Not sure about a Y2K 4.3 but it's prolly a Harrison. Currently they are worth about $12/ton. If it's a Harrison (post a pic) don't waste your time. You can't feed it enough oil to keep it cool and lubed.

Thanks for the help guys. I have run a sanden for several years with no external oiler, just filled the crankcase full of 30 wt. It worked great from day one till I gave it to a friend a couple of years later, (still going strong)
As noted, this one is a Delphi brand and looks nearly identical to the Sanden (but with no crankcase fill bolt) I will disassemble and fill this one and post up how it does and for how long.
I have been using it with no oil for 5- 6 weekend trips. (ok, I sprayed some WD40 into the intake hose a couple of times) I have a 2-1/2 gallon air tank. The pressure switch is not yet wired to the compressor clutch switch so it pumps till it hits the blow off valve (170 psi) in less then a minute.
I am still wrapping up all the loose ends from the motor and front suspension swap so the switches will get wired together soon.
