Finished clearing the trail Saturday. Jeff Degnan, Kris Revallier and myself went in committee and removed a leaner and several fallen trees including a couple of monsters. We also blocked one bypass that was created as a result of the blockage and one that had been created arouund a difficult section of trail (waaa.)

Snow is spotty up at Meadow and over the summit of the committee road.

Thanks Bret!

I will be up this weekend on our third annual father's day run. This week should have some good sun so hopefully the trail will dry up a little. I will post the conditions when I get back.

FYI: A group successfully made it from meadow out to the highway with little issue….2WD most of the way.

Thanks for paving the trail for us guys!
We passed a group at winch hill 4, who aparently turned back due to the impassable wet, deep snow at the lake.

That picture above is the road to the lake up above Winch Hill 5. There is some snow in the shadows but anywhere there is full sun there is no snow. Here's a pic of the middle of the lake area.

Remember, what's impassable for one is just a wheeling rich enviornment for another!:D

I drove through all the snow to the lake in 2 wheel drive actually.

We were heading down trail and came up on you guys after the blue Ford popped a bead. Not everyday you see a pair of full size/body rigs in there. :smokin:

I was in that group. We had a couple of guys run ahead while we were fixing the toyota 4 runner with a broken 3 link mount (by the way, I hope the patch job worked OK). When we got to the top they were coming back to us saying it was impassable. We now know different. Those two hadn't been out with us in years and apparently have a different idea of what is do-able. Hind site is 20/20.

You're welcome! I hope it held for you to get out. I've been stuck with broken shit and no welder. Pay if forward. I wish we would've stayed the course and went out meadow lake. We made it back down past winch hill 3 and crossed the river at Fordyce Lake by 8:30. The road out to Cisco was no problem. We won't be trusting the opinion of the two that said Meadow Lake exit was too tough....

After all of the fires the past week I wouldn't be surprised if they are too far in the future...

We have a group heading in this Friday at 4 pm. I just called the power house and they told me that water levels will not be a problem. See you on the hill!

I was up last weekend. The crossings were low. I drove straight across the first crossing and it just got to the top of my 40's. Have fun it should be a nice weekend.

So if I were to attempt it with 33's I might have wet floors? I'm thinking of going in at Eagle and come out at committee...... looked like the flows are coming up on the dreamflow guage.

37 cfs is more of a trickle then a flow. Its about as low as it'll ever be right now

2000TJDude

That's what I thought too. I know that the dreamflow guage is way up by the dam so I wondered how representative it is for the true amount of water in the creek.

The deepest crossing last weekend made it to my hub. I run 39.5's. 33's will be fine if it stays at the same level.

I made it in with 33's without a problem last weekend. I have crossed with the same tires in the past with water levels much higher at the 1st crossing without any problems. You should be just fine.

Thanks for the info........ I've read the "hardest" part of the trail can be the river crossings.

Maybe if the flow was 300+, and even then it isnt really "hard"....just might end up down river
