so where would there be an affordable reliable place to buy one. ive looked into govermentliquidations.com and they have all the humvee transplants up for bid but the condition of those motors is well quiestionable, and the ones that look clean are going for a decent ammount of cash.

i havent yet ckecked my local recyclers and i dont really want to.
so in your opnion where is a reliable rebuilder that sells for a decent price. from what i have seen a rebuild one can cost anywhere from 2-3000$ anythign cheaper or any one who can personally vouch for a shop or what ever? ?????.?

im also looking into buying a used truck for the motor. diesel is/has gotten goddamn expensive any of you selling your 6.2L truck or burb in socal?

I rebuilt one, cost $900 for the kit, $200 for misc parts I needed, plust $500 to prep the block.

It's easy to put together, just make sure the tolerances are in, otherwise you'll spin bearings, and make sure to loctite the IP gear on the camshaft. I had it torqued properly and the darn thing loosened up and the cam slid back. Ruined all my roller lifters, the cam and bent a few pushrods.

too bad I got a nice one for sale but it would cost you more in shipping than the engine

junk yards may not be the best unless the rig was wrecked.... but check out farms, i got mine at a farm, and the guy hasnt ran it in about 10 years he was saying, and all i had to do was change out the injecter pump and it fired up.... i bought the whole truck for $300 and the injecter pump for $15 ha.... just go to your local farmers

i see your in san diego... if you want a last resort, i know where ones sitting, no intek, injecter pump or starter, but they want $200 for it. its here by sacremento in a town caled knights landing on road 113, theirs a farm out their, and they have their own junk yard... the motor most likley ran seing that, that was the one i took the pump off of.

I have an extra 6.2 from a running donor truck I bought for the 4x4 swap into my 6.2 sub. I used the truck for work for about a month then started to pull parts from it. I would sell the motor for $800.00 plus shipping. I am in Fresno. shipping would probably be about $200.00. I figured that I would have the motor for a spare but if I could find a buyer w/o having to look for one that would be fine. I could give you all of the parts with it I am just going to scrap the truck after I get what want from it.

i gotta turbo setup for one if your looking, and a J-code intake and CUCV injection pump for the stoutest setup
