I won a set of flattops off of Ebay, and noticed the following:

It looks like they beat the top of the knuckle with a hammer to break the ball joints loose.
Based on what you can see, would you guys feel safe using the knuckles on a DD?

I've seen cleaned up rust pitting look like that. Run 'em.
Oh, and you did not win those.....you bid on them and payed for them. Bidding and winning are two very different things..... :)

they have to be milled down anyways. well mine did. my flat tops were like slightly angled or whatever on top and the machine shop had to take a little bit off the top anyways to get it flush/flat so the steering arm would mount flush with the knuckle

I hear you on that one. I was mainly concerned about the pitting in the first picture, and the hammer marks in the second.

when it is machined it will eliminate the beat makrs on the top, but i think they are fine, run'em
