that 4.3 wont wear out. i got over 200,000 on mine and just left it in there when i did my SFA. im only running 33s so its more then enough power
dahoyle 06-12-2008, 08:42 PM Wow.
Can hardly tell it's the same truck.:shaking:
GMCTruxrule 06-12-2008, 11:30 PM
Thats too funny.....anyway, I liked the rims before you rattle canned them black.
Edit: That thing looks ANGRY
michaels 06-13-2008, 12:04 AM my first car was a '95 blazer. easy as shit to work on. albeit, it was a terrible off-road car. the ground clearance to the frame was terrible, and the IFS jostled the truck like a boat in a hurricane. that being said, i hated it with a passion, and it was always causing problems. it had terrible body roll and sucked down gas for a V6. we had it since new and it lasted for 13 years and still looked new, but man, i hated that car.
the only good thing was plenty of room in the back with the seats down.:flipoff2:

he probably means he can go on the tight trails where the big ass trucks cant go cause they dont fit. i used to think the same shit when i had my cherokee with a 4 inch lift and 31's.
just remember these things

cj8scrambld 06-13-2008, 06:25 AM Looks like you have a lot osf tire slip there.....took a couple "attempts" to get up that little hill after moving to the right a little at a time.....? Damn, I knew I should have posted pics of my stock '94Blazer with 285's<<< I didn't realize it would be hardcore or tech informative....hehehe

rcurrier44 06-13-2008, 09:49 AM You are far better off keeping it as a DD and building something esle to wheel.....

Why? It already has a dent on the (L) rear qtr. above the tire......
Chevyrules05, how much did you "air" down in that beach pic where you got stuck?

none i used to drive thru that sand all the time with my c/k 1500 but my blazer is heaiver and i didn't realize that the was that loose
dahoyle 06-13-2008, 10:18 AM none i used to drive thru that sand all the time with my c/k 1500 but my blazer is heaiver and i didn't realize that the was that loose
That's just dumb. If you're going on the beach, you should air down. You were just lucky with the 1500. any tire spin at all, and you are going to the bottom. Pulled out a nice rig in Oregon, off the beach, After it sat thru the high tide
knaffie 06-13-2008, 10:25 AM Apparently everybody was born being a badass hardcore wheeler that knows everything and nobody had a first 4x4 they thought was cool with 1" larger tires.
Don't get discouraged man. If you're modding, wheeling, and loving your blazer, you're more of a wheeler than most of the guys on here. Bigger things will come with time if you stick with it. Don't let some of these jerks discourage you or take anything to heart.

uh huh, thought so..........
The little blazer most likely had smaller/narrower tires on it too...exacerbating the likelyhood of a stuck situation.
There is also a proper place/catagory to post this caliber of question. Oh and we must have missed the part about the 1" larger tires he installed.....I "thought" they were the same tires. Now, would they be 1" larger....or 1/2" larger measured from the center?

I agree.
Just because youre doin things a bit differently some guys are gonna flame ya. But if this is the rig you like FOKUM and keep wrenchin and wheelin.
Some guys talk shit. But where are pics of their rigs?????:shaking:

Just giving you shit man. Keep up the good work. Keep the pics coming.

mudslinger65 06-13-2008, 11:37 AM yeah i was just playin with him is all wen mine was stock i thought it was badass and then i started breakin crap and wanted more power and bigger wheels and such the s10 i think is a good platform to start a 1st timer build with hell i love mine bought it brand new didnt really want it at the time but it was what i had to work with
mudslinger65 06-13-2008, 12:07 PM heres a couple of my s10 when it had 33s dont have any pics on the laptop of the new build up but when i get em on the laptop ill load em up on here in a build thread.

exactly, wait about 6 months then they can look at and see what they think
silverblaze 06-13-2008, 02:40 PM If you have only gotten that thing stuck once brother; you aint wheelin! mines got bigger tires and i get that thing stuck every weekend. usaully high centered with all four tires spinning. i hate how for the frame hangs down especially with a body lift. i try to get over shit all the time and i know i aint gunna make it but it gives the fellas a good laugh. :D

STFU. I was giving him shit at first, and then advice on driving on the sand, neither of which has a damn thing to do with you. FWIW, my first 4x4 was an '80 Subaru that had 1" larger tires, and I drove it all the time on the beaches in FL, and later in NC, and I never got it stuck, because I guess I was just born with the knowledge that you air your fucking tires down on the sand.
Personally, I wouldn't give a dime for one of those frame dragging trucks, but to each his own.
It does take a bit more than a body lift and spray bombing your rims to warrant being posted in the tech forum tho, contrary to what some pole smoking little homo's such as yourself seem to think.
cj8scrambld 06-13-2008, 05:38 PM Yes, as far as tech. He has a 2" body lift (that does nothing for ground clearance without the addition of larger tires...more to come) and he added "3leaf fab shackles" <<< I don't know for sure what he means about that....? So, what i see is astock S Blazer with a 2" body lift. And the soon to be 32" tires.....what were OEM sized tires? 235/75/15.....or about 29" tall? So he'll add a tire which is 1.5" taller....or 3/4" taller in radius....minus squat for weight...OK Ok so they are minimally taller on a technical point.
I am just saying this belongs in the "other" section (newbie). In 6 months he says he'll have it built....OK, fine in 6 months post a build post with some tech here. We will see SAS with links and hopefully axles and components that are up to the users end tasks. Don't get me wrong, we all start some place. We all have a project starting point. Take that as a fine time to post a build wiht project progress pics.
dahoyle 06-13-2008, 06:26 PM I don't care that much one way or another, about the truck. If it's his, and he spends a bit of time on it, then he can be justifiably proud of it. Doesn't really belong here, but he'll figure that out.
What I can't stand, is someone that feels the need to open his cock gobbler, and jump on people for stating an opinion. Someone wants to call me a jerk or throw some insults at me, then they should at least know me.
Guess he thinks that chevyrules05 needs someone to step in to defend him, and that he's the appointed internet Caped Crusader.
First rule of thumb is that when you are going to get on to someone for being rude (which I was), you need to make sure your assistance is wanted, and you don't do it by being more rude. Nothing in this post has a damn thing to do with him, and he needs to keep his nose out of it.
chevyrules05,
You want to tell me to shut the fuck up, well this is your post, so I might come back at you, but at least you have some stake in things.
knaffie,
None of this concerns you, so crawl back into your corner and has been so eloquently stated before, eat a bowl of dicks.
joshcorso 06-13-2008, 08:17 PM just build it! I didn't think I was going to build anything else when I started on my Suburban, but half way through I already had ideas for another build. Now I'm glad I built it the way I wanted, learned alot. Also buy a red star, and when you feel like asking a question, Don't! Search and search again. Thats what I do,9 times out of 10 someone else has already asked your question. good luck

the frame will be up soon after the 32's are on and i usally drive on trails not at the mud hole so getting stuck and having to get pulled out is rare, i do all my fun on my ATV until my blazer is more capibable.
michaels 06-14-2008, 03:01 PM i love my blazer only gotton stuck once in sand and that is wy i am going to do a SAS it isn't the best gas millage but I LOVE this blazer, espically since i can go where the big "ass" trucks cant, it is a great trail runner
that's nice. i'll stick with my land rover discovery II any day though.
whenever i'm driving down the road and see a white blazer i still get pretty teary-eyed though... ha. it was a good car for what it was.
aaronr10 06-14-2008, 03:32 PM he added "3leaf fab shackles" <<< I don't know for sure what he means about that....?
I believe they are lift shackles for the rear of s-10's made by a "3 leaf fab". He is a PBB and CK5 member.

Ah, OK I just caught them in his pics when I went back and looked......something else to get hung up on IMO. Sorry, not a huge fan of extended shackles. But I know, you have to do what you have to do.
