A spring over conversion (~5" of lift) is usually good for 31's as is. Trim the fenders a bit, and you'll fit 33's. Between the 3" lift spring and a lot of trimming, you should be able to fit a set of 32's.

Good luck.

If you want to run 32" tires you may need more than a standard SPOA (spring over axle) lift if you don't want to cut the body or have interference problems with the firewall. If money isn't a big issue I would recommend a SPOA with a YJ spring kit (Jeep Wrangler springs). With that setup, you can easily run 32's without any problem. I would also recommend gear reduction to turn that size tire. I like 4.62 ring and pinions with a 32" tire for highway speed and mud or light trail use. Or, you can get your reduction with a lower geared tranfer case such as a GRS II (4.89 ratio). Good luck with your build.

I ran 33's with a 5" lift and it had enough room. I had to beat the metal flange down inside the wheel well though so it didn't dig into my tires when the suspension was compressed. I wouldn't try 33's on a 3" lift. If you took your 3" lift springs and put them over the axel instead of under it, you should have enough clearance for the 33's. Get a shock tower extender to allow the shock enough room to compress or you'll be rattling your teeth out.

Regardless of what lift kit you use, with 33" tires or larger You'll need to get wheels with very little backspacing so that your tires don't bite into the leaf springs when you turn. If you have it locked in 4WD and the tire grabs your spring, it will walk right under your car and snap your front axel and steering linkage....

edit: doh! I read it wrong.. you want to use 32's, not 33's. You might fit a 32 under a 3" spring under axel lift, but its going to be packed tight. The 32's should clear the springs with normal backspacing, but again, it will be tight.

Great sequence of pics on that rollover.

Go SPOA. It's safe if it's done properly. The guy in the rollover took a stupid line........all he had to do was go two feet to the left and avoid the rock.

And.........what the hell is he doing competing without a rollcage????

I have 32's on my zuk and I have a 6" spring over kit on mine. They are on stock rims and do rub the springs at full lock, but they don't rub anything else.

I have a sprung under truck with three inches of body lift and two of suspension. I respect wanting to do your truck your own way and keep it sprung under. Clearing 32's isn't hard with a slight lift in suspension and to take care of added flex a body lift is not a bad idea. Mine is fine and has been for the year I have had it on the trail. One thing you will want to do is get some type of spacer or backspaced wheel to make sure that when you turn you don't hit the spring. I have 3.5" of backspacing and a 1.5" spacer and I still grab the springs when I turn to hard and am flexed. Good luck I hope you can find some of this useful and I didn't have to modify the body to fit the tires.

about flamers:

flaming people from any nationality is pretty lame, but flaming someone who speaks English as a second language for not being able to intuitively use a search engine that even I struggle with... thats just not right. It's the World Wide Web, not the USA web. Guys who drive lifted rickshaws shouldn't be so racist. Think about what you're driving before you get all Patriot on someone.

To Nikita: The body lift is a great option that isn't discussed much with suspension lift questions. (good call alphasig112) If you do mostly trail riding and don't need a huge amount of articulation, a body lift to clear the oversize tires is a great solution. Coupled with your 3" suspension lift you should be able to run a larger range of tires and shocks.

Same as my old setup. 32-11.5-15 mud terrains on 2.5" backspaced wheels and 1" wheel spacers, no spring rub and very little fender well rub.

buy a star its not that hard to search if you support the PBB

and I'm gonna repeat what i said in the t-case post

I'm not trying to flame here, but you have to understand this is pirate.. its for hard core tech and thats what it is known for.
However, the flaming in this thread is because it is one of the most widely asked topics.
It has a new post started the least every 2 months ... after a years of hearing the same question over and over people get sick of seeing it and it clutters up the forum.
The only one more annoying is the "my check engine light is on" or "what is this little switch" questions. booth of witch I am fairly sure are in the Chilton's and Haynes manual.
The other reason some of the veterans flame newbs is if you look around pirate this is not the correct resource to be asking simple questions like what is the right oil for my zuk or my clutch is sticking. This is a Hard core rockcrawling site. Think we're bad go to the yota forum.
when you need those questions answered Look in the FAQ (frequently Asked Questions anything not in there is in Acks FAQ link http://www.acksfaq.com/ or you could try IZOOK http://www.izook.com/tech/ (both are listed in the FAQ)
If you want a forum for simple dress up items and common every day repairs along with some good builds sprinkled in, there are other Zuk based forums for that
may I suggest:
http://www.zuwharrie.com/ or maybe http://www.zukikrawlers.com/index.php
BTW this :flipoff2: is not to be mistaken for this :flipoff:
:flipoff2: is a signature almost freindly joke in Pirate the other is exactly what it is.
so sit back enjoy the knowledge posted here and if for some reason you find a question that is never been answered by all means ask, if not ..... search NEWB! :flipoff2:
