here are some pics of my onboard shower, I hope the pics come out ok, I made a complete compartment for it, all the hookups are external. Will be trying it out down at the hammers for Frostoberfest. It works pretty well, let me know what you think...

I like it.....I think you should get a longer output hose though, for when you want to get clean in a shower enclosure, with your winky a flyin'!

the showerhead hooks onto the rack,the hose is longer than it looks, and there is a swing out shower hoop and curtain, so you have a regular shower hanging off the side of the truck. when I get some more pics of what I have added, I'll have to post them.

I like it. What pump and heat exchanger did you use? Is it a kit or did you piece it together?

crap, I knew I should have cropped those out, otherwise I was gonna get shit for them, ok, not my doing, crappy Northwest off road stuff, bought the truck with the lift and havent fixed that problem yet. as for the pump, its a shur-flo 2.8 gpm, the faucet I made with parts from hardware store, it was cheaper than trying to buy one. heat-exchanger is copper tubing wrapped around exhaust pipe, works great.

yes, I got the idea after reading a couple discussions with your inputs, the exhaust is the way to go, however, think about taking a shower and having a cloud of exhaust in your face.....thats why mine is on the other side of the truck, it only costs a couple more feet of tubing to make it over to the other sid and back. I just thought I would throw that in for an idea for you, wouldn't want anyone to pass out while trying to get clean.... <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I am curious about using the exhaust pipe as a heat exchanger. Do you just wrap some copper tubing around the pipe? Pictures please

how many feet and what size tubing did you use?is the tubing just wrapped around with nothing over it?I'm doing mine right now and just want to compare it with something that is known to work....

Thats a damn good idea for the heat exchanger! I was looking at one at Grainger's to put in the heater hose but I'd hate to have a leak and get showered with antifreeze. I'd like to see some pictures of your setup too.

answeres: yes, it works where I'm from, the hose is always longer than it looks <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> my water pump has 1/2 inch tubing set up, the water comes into the pump from the inlet hose, and gets pushed out through the outlet, from there I have a T, one line will go to your cold side of the faucet, the other goes to the heat ex. as far as the heat ex goes, what I did was used a step down to 3/8(there is no way you can get a good tight bend with 1/2 inch copper tubing..) fromt he step down I use 3/8 copper tubing, and did 20 wraps around my exhaust pipe right after the collector. there is space inbetween the wraps, because I then brazed it to the pipe just to eliminate any rattles that might have started, but it was a prettty tight wrap. when you hook op your lines to your heat ex, you will have better results if you do it so that the water enters the tubing from the rear and works it's way forward, so pretty much your water is traveling one way, and the heat from your exhaust pipe is going the other way, this will give you the hottest water possible, so you NEED a cold water side of your faucet to help keep the temp down. works great

I ran vinyl tubing from the pump for a couple feet and clamped it onto the copper tubing(about a foot before your first coil) the copper tubing coils around the exhaust and goes all the way to the faucet.
