Pickin up a 77 Scout II for 200$ from a kid a few miles away. The previous owner before him used small metal 2 inch pucks that shifted an inch over, all the way around, now thats not the worst part, imagine using 6 inch shackles all the way around, along with blown shocks, while driving down hwy 99 everyday. Sound nuts to you? can we say veer steer?:bounce:

Anyway im takin the axles for spares and thankfully finally a ROLL
BAR! :flipoff2: I am looking for any info on the tranny its a manual (t-18, 19?) I had a 77 traveler with factory limited slip so does the scouty have the same? So yeah thats it, p.s anybody wants the motor let me know i dont know what it is either 304, 345) laterz and happy wheeling

I wouldn't run an aluminum adaptor bell housing...if that's what you are looking into. You'd be better off with a Chevy tranny too and then adapting the t-case. It's much stronger (the factory bellhousing, not the tranny!)

so Im looking into a 350 turbo tranny cuz its free but what about the weakness in the adapter for the dana 20. The 350 motor was out of his 64 chevelle and ran the quarter mile in the low 13's. It I love the motor but I am cautious about putting 380+ hp to the dana 20. I think It will snap like a twig. The motor was well built and As I said before needs building again but with torque like that why not just go with the np205 and mate it to the d20? If I go this far Chevy wise Wouldnt it be easyer to buy a 3/4 ton chevy and throw it all over into the scoot? :D
