I have a 77 cherokee that ive been building for a couple years, ive already instailed my dana 60 out of a 77 f250. Ive heard that you can convert the brums to disk brakes by using parts frm a front dana 44 and or 10 bolt. Since they use the same caliper and caliper mounting bracket. If any one out there could help me with this much needed. brake and drive shaft and it drives again, cant wait!!!

Sorry, to clarify this is a rear end. I forgot to add that.

nope cant be done happy tuesday!!!

you need rotors and a disk brake bracket. Get the brackets first the vendors on here have them. I used great lake offroads stuff. Very high quality parts. And calipers are the hard part. you pretty much lose your rear park brake unless you want to spend $500 on special kits with park brake calipers.

if you are any good at matel fabrication you could always build a parking brake onto your transfer case such as the one all pro offroad puts out.

A lot of the kits ive seen out there use the same calipers as the front then the same rotors and lugs attach the hub. I dont care about the E brake, didnt have one before, the kits ive seen are a flat laser cut plate that the calipers attach to. If not any advice were i can get a good kit and maybe a price?

Not even remotely worth the time simply for a 44 60 combo. Maybe in a XJuggy with 60/14 or Currie 9's, fully overhauled with like a 3fiddy. Thats the dumbest idea ive heard for a guy plannin on running a 44/60 with likely the stock 4.0.:shaking: ................Keep itJeepin....there are a billion companies that make brakets for 60's and 14 bolts. Just to name a few....Barnes4x4.com...Blue Torch Fab...Ballistic Fab. They all work with 3/4 ton chevy calipers. 6 or 8 lug both work. Depeneding on your choice they can be bolted on or welded. Then just simply take everything from the donor truck and bolt it on.

This is a fucking joke, right.

18 posts because some tard who already has all the information, can't seem to call one of any number of vendors who have already been given to him, and many more that haven't, to simply order what he apparently already knows he needs.

So, you called GLO and they haven't responded as quickly as you'd like. Either be patient, or call someone else. Were you expecting someone here to call them for you?

Jesus, Keepitjeepin, you want us all to come down and put them on for you, too?

Exactly where is the hardcore tech in this?

Why don't you delete this stupidity, before some of the really friendly folks see it.

Use GM style brackets available through most dirt track supply places. The Cadillac Eldorado calipers already have the e-brake built in. In fact I ahve a new set for sale if you are interested.

Hell, I ordered my brackets off ebay from Virginia 4x4 for $75.00 and using 85 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 rotors and calipers. Pick up the phone or get online dude. You keep asking the same questions over and over and answering them yourself... What exactly are you needing to know?? I've seen your original question answered at least 5 times. dahoyle is right, you're gonna get introduced to some really helpful people soon if you don't just go do it.

PM me with info. I'm putting 60's under mine right now and I might be interested if the price is right. Thanks in advance!

I actually did something very similar on the first 60 I installed discs on. Just welded a pair of 3/4 ton Chevy backing plates on it. Worked like a charm, and they are press formed. Stout as hell. Easiest way is to just weld it on, but if you are ambitious, you can fab up a bracket so they can bolt on. I retired that axle for a 70HD, but I still have it behind the shed. I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow. Don't know why more people don't use them. They are also full circle, so you can fab the bracket to attach the cable for the Eldo calipers right on them.

The 70 I'm using has been converted to run the Superduty rear disc calipers, because I have about half a million miles in the SD Fords, and there isn't a better brake system available. The engines suck, but the rest of the truck is top notch.

What is everyone useing for a master cylinder? I've got a CJ-7 with manual breaks with disc up front. Going to 60's front and rear w/disc all around. I've heard of people using master cylinder's out of 60's camaro's because they came with manual frt & rear disc. Just curious to see what everyone else is doing?
