I have been urged to post my buildup over here. Been on the road for a little over a year. 20 mpg highway if I stay out of it.

Life started out as a rough body 1980 J10 with 6.2/TH400 (2wd) to divorced NP205. Did 3 months of bodywork and paint (Gunmetal Metallic) I blew the 6.2 and the swap was on. Details of build http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29

Engine: Cummins 4BTA (P7100 pump:flipoff2:) stage 2 injectors, fuel plate slid forward a wee bit.
Trans: New NV4500 (Dodge with Chevy mainshaft) South Bend 350 hp 750 TQ 13 inch clutch
Tcase #1 Dana 300 with 32 spline input, 32 spline output, stick the hi/lo lever for gear splitting.
Tcase #2 NP205 (divorced)
Front axle- Dana 60 4.10s (GM with tubes reversed) It came that way, it works fine.
Rear-Currently D70 until I freshen up a 14 bolt with rebuild and detroit. I have the axle apart, just need the time.
3 inch staight exhaust

I have some 12 bolt hummer rims I had recentered with Copperhead Fab 1/4 plate centers. 36 Goodyears for now (they are new and were practically free and needed the $$$ to finish the project so I took them).

Rhino grille conversion. Front bumper is a BJs prototype. Rear bumper is??? but heavy. Auxillary 60 gallon fuel/tool box.

As soon as I get rear swapped back out, Ill start on the cosmetics on the interior like stubborn window crank, etc.

Note, this is not the 265 ft/lbs tq cpl857 Cummins. In STOCK trim, I had 350 tq at 1500 rpms from the factory. That has changed!!!

Good or bad, let the comments roll
Enjoy!

Post the pics up here! You need to be a member at that site for some of them. But nice job!

I think a 6.2 makes more power in this condition but I am not sure:D

Motor came with a sumpless pan. This would not do to well when the front axle articulates ANY

Put a rear sump on and all is well

I needed a front and top exhaust mounting with the hood clearance and heater box.

I used hydraulic motor mounts to help with vibrations. 6x6 tubing cut open to let the motor mounts sit directly on top of the fluid mounts was easy and effective.

with D300
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/tndonor/A_s_final_day_s_counting_down1-5.jpg Yesthe D300 is passenger output. Since I had bought a truck with the Ford divorced 205 all hooked up, I used it as a gear splitter. I have used to to uproot trees, or just for a quick handy 2lo.

p7100 pumps have the electric solenoid that when you turn ignition on, it pulls up a lever to allow fuel to the pump. These can go out and are pricey. So I put a manual cable from a 94-95 DT466 that used p7100 pumps on mine.
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/tndonor/DSCN1565.jpg

That is a mock up cable, but you get the idea. The bracket from the solenoid was removed and a sheathed cable comming straight off the firewall resides there now.

Used a braided stainless cable

I did not perform the swap, just contributed the parts and$$$

I have a friend and that is all he does, Cummins conversions (4b and 6B). All credit goes to him for getting it together in this tight, resistant to change truck.

What are the dimensions on the intercooler that you used? Where did you get it from? Was it custom or an off the shelf item? I'm in the process of doing a 4bt swap in a cj6 and have everything figured out except the intercooler. That's the last thing I need to figure out so I can give it back to the customer.

I like the idea. Not a huge fan of the truck but i like the swap and it's not in a vehicle that gets that swap by everyone else.
