I searched......

I want to swap out the front (strap and bolt) out-put yoke on my 231 for a u-bolt stile yoke. My question is, can I use the same yoke that works on my dana 30 an 44 pinion? I would drill the original one out, but I dont think there's enough clearance.

thanks:confused:

Not sure... guessing not.

What you could do. Go to a full size truck running a NP/NV231HD. It will probably have U-bolts vs. the straps and should bolt right on.

Or, call Jess at HighAngle.

Any one know the spline count on that font t-case output shaft? I know the pinion on a 30's is 26 spline and 60's have a 29 spline pinion shaft. would a 60 yoke work?

231 front output is 27 splines, same as D300. (best of my knowledge)

Why change the one at the t-case? Will you still be able to get to them that way without dropping the skid plate?

If you ever switch to a CV style front shaft then you'll need to switch it back.
